Has anyone tried the Royal Mail delivery service of Pharmacy2U. Would they honour brand specification?

What trouble are you having with your prescription?

I have tried Pharmacy2U but had to give up on them as contacting them if there was an issue with my prescription was too difficult.

My independent pharmacy’s supplier overcharges her for Teva which I am happy with. I was persuaded to accept Roma but they upset my guts to incontinence level.

Nope... not in my experience

But then my prescription only has the brand in brackets as my GP refuses to write a branded script for Levo or Lio.... if your prescription is written correctly, brand first, then they ought too

Same boat as you, i can only take Morningside. I emailed all the chemists on the thyroid uk website ( thanks Jaydee) and Springfield pharmacy are looking like they might be able to fulfil my 3 month script. Just waiting on further instruction from them. Worth emailing them if you haven't already springfieldpharmacyUK@gmail.com

springfieldpharmacy.com/

Just checked emails and pharmacy2u didn't even reply to back.

I used them several years ago when I wasn't well with Fibro, I used to trek to Lloyds chemist each month only to find out that once again they hadn't bothered getting my meds ready which meant a long stand whilst they fannied around, this made the prospect of having them delivered to the door very appealing.

They started off OK but communication was poor, it was often difficult to speak to someone and emails took too long to get answered. Then they started sending partial orders claiming they couldnt get hold of certain medications and I just got fed up in the end.

I wasn't diagnosed with Hypo at the time so have no idea about getting brand specific Levo. I now use an excellent independent local pharmacy who always manage to get my named brand, Accord. Using my experience I wouldn't recommend them.

I tried the online pharmacies. I have to say it's not great. And there is a real flaw. If you end up needing a new script such as anti biotic they can't get it to you for 48hrs. It comes via RM 24hrs special But in reality it can take RM up to three days to deliver it.

I gave up at that point changed my oroginal local boots pharmacy (who were useless) to another local boots who for the last year actually has my repeat script all ready, fulfilled everytime. It's a flipping miracle. I still can't believe it!!

Pharmacy2U have recently taken over the old Lloyds online pharmacy operation.

The biggest single problem with online pharmacies is that they lead to the closure of local pharmacies.

That reduces our chances of being able to obtain both prescription and 'Pharmacy' medicines quickly, if we need them. Or any of the other services of local pharmacies.

Not criticising any individual who uses an online pharmacy . Especially not as the reason will likely be to do with failures or limitations of their local pharmacies.

I grew to dislike my local Boots intensely. But on switching to a newly independent pharmacy (had been a major chain), I find they are so much better, both than when a chain and than Boots.

Thankyou. Yes my brother in law has just finished with Boots. They were good at first but have become hopeless lately.

A bizarre issue had been gnawing away at me for years!

They close at 14:00 for an hour (most days) for lunch.

But they do not put that on their pharmacy opening hours - neither online nor as part of the opening hours displayed in their shop window.

That happens often to be a convenient time for me to use them! So more than once I had checked online, thought they were open, and turned up to find them closed. I had thought it was an occasional closing - not every day.

Because I thought this was a nuisance, I emailed Boots head office and the shop - several times. And they simply didn't appear able to get their heads round it being an issue!

Eventually eve I started to remember. Which meant that I and many others would form a queue before 15:00 and receive very slow service.

(No complaints about the individuals who were perfectly fine.)

I've also noticed that since the pandemic many pharmacies close at 2pm on Saturdays. Or dont open at weekends at all.
