My moms hair is all breaking off from being hypo. It's super dry and course.. She can't use keritan treatments because of her lungs.. She is properly medicated and it is still like that. Any suggestions to fix this would be appreciated.

Sorry, but I would suggest that if her hair is still like that, she is not properly treated. What makes you say she is? Does she have a copy of her latest blood test results?
Has she had her nutrients tested: vit D, vit B12, folate, ferritin? Optimal levels of nutrients are crucial for good hair.

Do share copies of your mum’s latest thyroid blood test results with us (TSH, FT3 and FT4) so we can better advise. If your mum hasn’t tested key vitamins, do ask GP to test ferritin, folate, B12 and vit D, which all suppport thyroid health.
If your GP won’t test FT3/ FT4 or vitamins, you can do this privately (as many forum members do). Please don’t supplement key vitamins without first testing levels.
Could be under (or possibly over) treatment, vitamin deficiencies. Meanwhile, she can use natural shampoos with oils. Faith in Nature is a good place to start. Using the EWG skin deep verification or similar (google it) to find kind products to the hair and skin can prove useful.
I have to say, my hair only started to improve once on medication and addressing vitamins deficiencies.
don't be annoyed but I think that if your Mum was properly medicated her hair would be OK.
