I am currently on 125mcg of Teva levo. The pharmacy can't get hold of the 25mcg Teva so I asked could they get hold of the 50mcg and the 75mcg Teva instead and they said yes but only if my prescription specified these amounts....I don't understand? What difference does it make if the total amounts to the same 125mcg dose? Does it really matter if I have 100mcg plus 25mcg or the 75mcg plus 50mcg? Has anyone else had this issue?

Yes - they are restricted in making changes like that.

I know we can see the logic but there are issues.

For example, cost. 75 cost £2.84, whereas 25, 50 and 100 cost very close to 80p. Someone has to agree that they should dispense a more expensive medicine - even if the difference is not exactly startlingly large.

You need 50s and a pill cutter and a pill box to hold the half pill until next day. Works for me.
