Intermittent fasting and thyroid reaction
If you're not optimally medicated, starving yourself will reduce conversion of T4 to T3, leaving you more hypo.
Are you eating keto or normally when you eat? Even if normal, intermittent fasting mimics keto. Keto leads to reduction in T3 ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl...
But suggested here that is a feature not a flaw of keto as t3 needed to metabolise carbs and so less is produced when less carbs

getting hot could be cortisol rising to compensate for lack of glucose Or it could be thyroid over medication
I am also intermittent fasting. I want to lower my fasting glucose and have less glucose disregulation as I am borderline pre-diabetic. I am eating complex carbs so not keto although fairly low carb. I’m using a continuous glucose monitor to spot any glucose drops (which could result in compensatory cortisol surges) and are unhealthy in themselves and generally to see what food does what.
I have been on a mostly keto diet for the last couple of months as my weight has slowly been creeping up. At the same time I have been increasing my levo. Been following the keto 800 although only did the low calorie bit for a few weeks. The recipes are suprisingly tasty and have not been that hungry.
Having lost a few kilos was surprised to see that my blood pressure had dropped and hoping to see a similar drop in cholesterol. As greygoose says best not to do this unless you are properly medicated.
One thing I noticed is how sweet somethings taste now for example apples.
I also have Hashi's and practiced intermittent fasting and fasting in general prior to being medicated with Cytomel (after numerous attempts at alternative forms of thyroid medication). To be honest, I cannot tolerate intermittent fasting or restricting of carbs since taking thyroid meds. Symptoms are extreme muscle pain, sore throat, lymph nodes etc. like you. The muscle pain is bad enough for me to break the fast right away.
Dr Michael Mosely recommends intermittent fasting but adds……unless you have thyroid problems.
