December Tiromel 18.5mcg + Aristo 600mcg per week

January Tiromel 12.5mcg + Aristo 600mcg per week

Early February Roma 10mcg + Aristo 750mcg per week increased to 20mcg

It clearly shows the changes, more so than BP and temperature which show smaller changes

RHR swapping from Tiromel to Roma

That is interesting - and I am not very surprised!

What do you use to monitor your resting heart rate?

tattybogle profile image
tattybogle in reply to helvella

a think you should start asking your AI thingy about" RHR monitoring / thyroid hormone dose" every week too :)

I’m a Luddite like Tatty so it was the cheapest Fitbit Charge 4 which I have to say has been really handy at monitoring my initial improving results and I was logging food at the time trying to find my intolerances and to log my couch to 5k and then swift decline after first jab😳

Quite a decent price (around £80 at a glance). :-)

Thanks

It’s an invaluable hindsight log… as you know I’m not so hot on spreadsheets 🙄

TiggerMe in reply to helvella

Turns out you can send all the info to a spreadsheet.... who knew!

TiggerMe profile image
TiggerMe in reply to helvella

From the beginning… good battery life!

Started C25K and jogging 3miles x 3 times a week until jab

Hi Eeyore- that’s really interesting. I’ve seen similar trend myself since starting NDT and titrating towards therapeutic dose.. I’ve found it a better indicator for me than temp as my temp seems to fluctuate a lot which may be due to my adrenals

TiggerMe profile image
TiggerMe in reply to LucyYoga

It is really useful isn’t it, I only do waking temperature which did start to drop again with lower T3/T4 but only by 0.1 it is interesting to see night time skin temperature changes which the Fitbit does too

My adrenals are crook too 😕

LucyYoga profile image
LucyYoga in reply to TiggerMe

I recently got a WHOOP- it tracks heart rate variability too- although I’m not sure that I’m seeing any clear patterns that correlate how I’m actually feeling with the HRV yet.

TiggerMe profile image
TiggerMe in reply to LucyYoga

No, I'm not sure about the health metrics bit... can it really be accurate on all these things? Never looked into the 'premium' option

LucyYoga profile image
LucyYoga in reply to TiggerMe

I think it was a bit of a waste of money for me tbh - probably useful if you are an elite athlete but i don't quite fit into that category anymore...unless walking up and down the stairs a couple of times a day is considered peak fitness challenge!

Re your adrenals do you mind if I ask what you are doing ?

TiggerMe profile image
TiggerMe in reply to LucyYoga

You're about as athletic as me then... no more than a steady walk

Really happy to share 🤗

I'm just getting my T3/T4 back to a good level and I'm trying out adrenal glandulars 300mg cortex at the moment but could raise next week and this HRV could come in useful, my cortisol is pants, I was also off the B Vits this week as tested Monday and need to redo as folate and Vit D didn't work😩

LucyYoga profile image
LucyYoga in reply to TiggerMe

Yes same…. I’m doing adrenal cortex. I’m certain my difficulty in raising my NDT has been due to my abysmally low cortisol so trying to get it up, as it were! God I hate the finger stabbing testing … I’m terrible with blood and it really traumatises me. I did an iron panel a few weeks ago and accidentally spilled the vial full of blood on the floor and had to redo it which was horrid.. felt like I was going to puke. I’d better get used to it - let’s hope exposure therapy works!

I now know what a Whoop is! Thought you meant you were having a moment🤣 Just reading  Jaydee1507 article about HRV which is really interesting and damning!

Eysore ,, i'm a confirmed luddite ,, but you are making me waver ,, i think i might want one of these .. do they do them for scarecrows ?

TiggerMe profile image
TiggerMe in reply to tattybogle

Just don’t go for a shiny one or the magpies will get ya 😉

tattybogle profile image
tattybogle in reply to TiggerMe

will i have to learn how to use a smart phone too ?

My daughter keeps threatening to make me have one of her cast offs , because my dumb phone is finally getting a bit iffy ( mind you, i quite like that .. it means i miss most of the "mum i've crashed my company car what do i do " calls... and her brother gets them instead .

TiggerMe profile image
TiggerMe in reply to tattybogle

Yes, smartphone necessary as it talks to that but also will link to a computer if not from the Jurassic period 🤣... hand me downs is how I ended up with a smart one, they do last years, really useful for listening to music / podcast etc whilst walking.... it's the phone that's smart rarely the owner!🤗

TiggerMe profile image

....

Perhaps more suitable for scarecrows?

I’m a bit weird and my hr has a rhythm of its own anyway although is influenced by dose changes.

Have you discovered heart rate variability on your watch? Really good at tracking energy levels and mine has increased from 5-15 to 20-40 on t3 so far.

Hrv data
TiggerMe profile image
TiggerMe in reply to Jaydee1507

Oh, I've never clicked on it and got to that screen! Now I need to go read about it!

HRV
Jaydee1507 profile image
Jaydee1507Administrator in reply to TiggerMe

Athletes use it to check energy/performacy but also people with ME/CFS to see how they are doing. It's more important to me on a day to day basis than heart rate itself and a very good predictor of how well you can perform on any day.

I'm shocked yours is lower than mine but I think your FT4 was lowish.

TiggerMe profile image
TiggerMe in reply to Jaydee1507

Is low good or bad? The 16 might be due to being awake at 4am tea & reading for an hour... due to the mid week snorer, though I did do a 3am dog alarm the night before?

Sorry... FT4 - 19.2 as of 20/2/2023 just getting it back up after Endo's request to lower my dose 🙄same with T3

Jaydee1507 profile image
Jaydee1507Administrator in reply to TiggerMe

Low isn't a good thing. This article explains it fairly well.

blog.mymetabolicmeals.com/h...

TiggerMe profile image
TiggerMe in reply to Jaydee1507

Great thanks, I do feel rubbish after a broken night.... as well as the snorer I also dropped 10mcg T3 as I'm a little over range and took my whole dose of 15mcg this morning so not a good day to start looking!

I can't find a way to look back on this info, is it just a weeks worth we get? I must look to see what 'premium' offers?

Jaydee1507 profile image
Jaydee1507Administrator

10 mcgs t3 is a lot to drop at once.

It is just a week for hrv although heart rate is over a year bizarrely. See my whack results for last year. 🤪

Fitbit did a premium offer at Christmas but you had to have already been a subscriber before.

Heart rate
TiggerMe profile image
TiggerMe in reply to Jaydee1507

Yeah dropping the 10 last night was because I was going to take 15 this morning so it was a 24 hours dose timing change so only really dropped 5...

That is interesting you seem to vary with the seasons or the temperature... lowest during the heatwave? Irritating that you only get 1 week of HRV but can go right back to the beginning with RHR.

So with the HRV <50 👎I've some work to do then, thanks for showing me this it will be very useful but really need to make weekly notes.... you have done well to get from 5-40 how long has that taken?

Have you tried the premium option?

Jaydee1507 profile image
Jaydee1507Administrator in reply to TiggerMe

I always do better in summer and worse in winter, been like that for years but hoping adding T3 will even that out a bit. I have problems with microcirculation so temperature definitely affects me.

5-40 are the bottom and top numbers of mine. Was 5-20 on Levo, now more like 15-40. It took a few months on added T3 I suppose. It's a good thing to monitor and if it drops or raises to note what you were doing that might have affected it.

Annoyingly, when I first got the watch I think there was a few months of free premium included and I didn't really know about HRV then but I was watching sleep variations at that time as I have 3 sleep conditions.

It's 79.99 a year for premium or £7.99 a month. Might be worth it for a few months while you adjust doses.

There are separate devices that track HRV if you really get into monitoring it.

I hate signing up for things🙁... I'll take a look into what else it is going to offer

LucyYoga has a 'WHOOP' which looks ideal when we get training for a triathlon 😆

Actually find it quite reassuring that the figures agree with me feeling totally pooped

Jaydee1507 profile image
Jaydee1507Administrator in reply to TiggerMe

I just looked up WHOOP and that costs £27 a month! I hate signing up for things too. Got to remember to cancel!!

TiggerMe profile image
TiggerMe in reply to Jaydee1507

Certainly looks like low HRV ties in with adrenal fatigue, not surprisingly 😬

TiggerMe profile image
TiggerMe in reply to Jaydee1507

I've just started a free 3 months Premium trial and it now gives me all the historic HRV back to Feb 2021, first glance shows since C jabs 15 - 22 prior to that 26 - 32 😕 so it'll be interesting to see if I can improve, no change with the addition of T3... thanks for the heads up 🤗

I had a read up again myself yesterday to remind me what it was all about. It’s the autonomic nervous system and trying to balance that. Exercise which I can’t really do for now other than short walks on the flat. Relaxation is important.

Good to know all the data is stored waiting for a credit card. 🥹😂

TiggerMe profile image
TiggerMe in reply to Jaydee1507

Yes I need to read more, you have certainly opened a whole new can of worms!

I need to see how much is downloadable into a spreadsheet and I shall certainly cancel before any payment 😉

I only do steady walking, aim for 2-3 hours a day, no real stress other than the stress of not being well 🙄, avoid people, mindful and taking time for myself... pretty good sleep

Adrenals and autonomic connection...
Jaydee1507 profile image
Jaydee1507Administrator in reply to TiggerMe

I'm not panicing at the moment. Waiting for a good 6 months to give t3 tie to do work and for me to be more able to exercise.

TiggerMe in reply to Jaydee1507

Good, me neither I think I'm finally on the right path and like you say time 🤗

TiggerMe profile image

I'm thinking helping my adrenals and cortisol is the right route...

I do use a vagus nerve stimulator every day. That helped rid me of a lot of PEM. Often these things need a multi pronged atttack!

TiggerMe profile image
TiggerMe in reply to Jaydee1507

Is that like those awful TENS machine electric shock thingy 😱 oh noooo

I probably ought to get back to Yoga 🧘‍♀️ to start with.... just not in the head space though rather put on a tune and dance around the kitchen 💃

Jaydee1507 profile image
Jaydee1507Administrator in reply to TiggerMe

You can do vagus nerve stimulation with certain TENS machines but I have a specifically designed one by Parasym. It's actually painless and all you feel is a sense of relaxation.

TiggerMe profile image
TiggerMe in reply to Jaydee1507

That sound a whole lot nicer 😅

Yoga would be great, daily breathing exercises. I'll be headed to pilates cuz im too naturally bendy for yoga. lol

I found Tiromel felt a bit pokier than Roma though bloods suggest much of a muchness? It may be that the lower T4 when starting Roma compounded that?

Either T3 has raised my HR to a better level it just took longer with Roma but like I say that could be the T4 link?

TiggerMe profile image
TiggerMe

Hmm that’s me on Roma, I think T4 and other vit mins are vital

I have owned my fitbit Versa for 6 years now and wear it everyday I love the sleep tracker and alarms and although it’s definitely time for me to get a new watch as this one is getting long in the tooth and starting to glitch and the battery life is really sad now… :( … Im thinking Apple Watch this time as the new Versa hasn’t been reviewed well but maybe I will check out the charge.

TiggerMe profile image
TiggerMe in reply to Batty1

It was a matter of size for me as I resent wearing a watch, I have the Charge 4 as it was small and neat, looks like 6-10 days charge is still the average so mine is holding up well

Some of them are so big and even with glasses I'd struggle to read the display, happier to have the smallest possible and read the info of my phone or computer
