Is it the hypothyroidism or the medication causing my growing breasts? I feel so uncomfortable.

Can levothyroxine cause breast enlargement?
Levothyroxine is a direct replacement for your own hormones, it's not a medication either for that reason. It's far more likely that you are undermedicated with probably low vitamin levels. What are your latest thyroid and vitamin levels with ranges please?
Thanks for your response. Normal t3 and t4 but tsh 15.7.
Your FT3 & FT4 may fall within the 'nomal' range but they won't be optimal for you, certainly with a TSH of 15.7. You are just hypothyroid and under replaced at the moment so expect odd things to happen and in time once your treatment is more optimal things should go back to where they were.
Mine grew and were more painful when on lower doses of T4 (as in undermedicated and showing symptoms of hypothyroidism) I also put on 6kg after starting T4, as I’ve moved up the doses the 6kg have come off and my breasts are their usual size and only painful in my usual cycle. HRT also affected them, much more sore/swollen. I’ve been off that for 12 months now and cycle back to normal. Turns out it was misdiagnosed not peri menopause after all, was hypothyroidism. 🦋
