As a last resort as conventional NHS not been able to help I am going to try this supplement to help get rid of likely Long Covid micro blood clots… just checking that it hasn’t got any knock on effects for thyroid, other vit/ min levels etc?

Isnt it made of fermented soy? If so, then it may affect your thyroid

Though boiled soya beans are used early in process, I think, but not sure, the nattokinase protein is 100% pure enzyme and not ‘ contaminated’ by soya.

I read awhile back that natto(nattakinase) has less soy but it isn't totally void of it. I took it for 2 months or so and I think it contributed to the growth of my fibro cyst since soy is a phytoestrogen. Cant recall if it altered my levels and if it did, it must have been minute since I was using a few drops from a k2 supplement

I used it myself for a few months along with the K2 from MK7 as I supplement with D3,....Yes Nattokinase is great against blood clots; A heart patient used it instead of Warfarin....I was also a little weary as it may well contain some fermented soya but as it's fermented decided it's OK and was I OK on it ....I'm also Hypo....

Are you aware of its advantages/disadvantages with respect to DOACs?

Direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs)—dabigatran (Pradaxa), rivaroxaban (Xarelto), apixaban (Eliquis), edoxaban (Savaysa), and betrixaban (Bevyxxa).

No sorry - just read Nattokinase is a great anticoagulant :)

No, just had to go DIY as nearly 3 years of Long Covid and GPS/ consultants not offering anything except BP drugs, no blood clotting drugs which I see are being trialled in various London hospitals. If I go by the South African LC trials then ideally looks like I should be on, or at least trialling, drugs that break down clots, stop them forming, and disposing of product, but left with DIY nattokinase. Hoping to go on the Sheffield Hallam trial re Long Covid when they sort out their admin.

I have not read anything about there use in relation to Long Covid. Just atrial fibrillation.

if you are interested in Long Covid and nattokinase, plus anti clotting drugs have a look at Gez Medinger on YouTube…a journalist sufferer himself he has interviewed the top LC scientists.

Rather the other way round! I'm more interested about AF than LC (personally). :-)

Thanks Imaaan, I have been looking at superior USA made, that have acid resistant coating, that happen to refer to ‘soy free’ too. I have never gone down soy free avoidance previously, so not really worried about that, but wondered whether the actual anti clotting properties would have any effect on any thyroid issues. I am getting desperate that over 2.5 years of raised BP and HR, and breathlessness, is not even being improved with NHS intervention, despite 5 BP drugs! Like every thing I’ll try nattokinase slowly…lots of research saying doing some good for ‘long hauler’ LC sufferers but no harm.
