Hi there can someone give me a listing of any issues that might block thyroid hormone getting through in some people. Sorry not put very well but can't remember - something like D102 or similar.

Thanks

As you take levothyroxine and T3 you can’t see if you are good or poor converter of Ft4 to Ft3

Presumably older results show you were before T3 was added

Your previous post shows your are likely not on high enough dose levothyroxine

healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

Free T4 (fT4) 11.9 pmol/L (9 - 23) 20.7%

Free T3 (fT3) 4.4 pmol/L (2.4 - 6) 55.6%

Many people when adequately treated on levothyroxine plus small dose T3 find they need BOTH Ft4 and Ft3 at least 60-70% through range

Have you increased your liquid levothyroxine

Retest 6-8 weeks after any dose change

Hi there thanks for your reply - I knew you wonderful people would have an idea - yes I have increased it and I am still doing so - getting back up to 100 mcg - I was wondering about the D102 or whatever it is do you know anything about that.

yes Dio2 test info here

thyroiduk.org/deiodinase-2-...

regeneruslabs.com/products/...

Heterozygous Dio2…….Meaning inherited from one parent and conversion likely impaired

Homozygous means inherited from both parents, likely conversion more badly affected

I tested positive for Heterozygous Dio2

Hi just looked again at the above and forgot this low result for T4 was when I was trying to do the Paul Robinson trial - didn't work running down the T4 and introducing T3 - felt ill - so this was when I was trying to transition - got back to normal as soon as I saw this blood result.

Many people on levothyroxine plus small dose T3 need BOTH Ft4 and Ft3 at least 60-70% through range

And important all four vitamins are optimal

Are you on strictly gluten free diet/dairy free diet

No gluten free does not agree with me I'm afraid sometimes too much sugar replaces the gluten and diary free I am on lactose free milk etc. but eat eggs etc. as they are important for my vitamin levels.

I put the following on another post just a few minutes ago.....any help?

If the snp has been inherited from both parents the impact on T4 to T3 conversion is greater when taking T4only.

I inherited the Dio2 snp from both parents (homozygous)

The endo I spoke with knew this but he still thought T4 should suffice. Wrong....it had almost killed me!!

Definitely share your result with your endo.....the more "noise" we make the better!!

The following might help you argue your case

Brilliantl many thanks - are TPO antibodies linked I wonder !

No, not to a Dio2 test

TPO and TG tests measure thyroid antibodies

Tests are for Thyroid Autoimmune Disease aka Hashimoto's..... antibodies will be high
