Dear all,

Appart at moment have normL results ,

I have all the symptoms....really want to get better.... I take at moment 100mg of levotyroxine....

Like I said comment here if you are medicated and still have symptoms.

I will appreciate your help as I think 🤔 it is nice to know I am not the only one.

Thank you

If you still have symptoms then like many who come here who are symptomatic you are undermedicated. This was pointed out to you in reply to your previous post.

Your FT4 is only 53% through range which is low, most people feel best when it's in the upper half, often around 70% plus, also you have no FT3 result which is essential. You need to know how well you convert T4 to T3 and if FT3 is low then that will cause symptoms. You certainly need an increase in your dose of Levo.

Also your Vit D level is insufficient at 27.9ng/ml and I explained what you need to do to improve it to the recommended level of 50ng/ml.

Since I replied on that previous thread you posted the following:

iron 118ug/dL range [60-180]

ferritin 25,4ng/nLrange [13-150]

Your ferritin level is way too low, it is recommended to be half way through range (about 82 with that range) and some experts say that the optimal level for ferritin is 90-100.

Your iron level is fine so you don't have iron deficiency, just low ferritin which needs addressing. Your thyroid hormone can't work properly, nor can good conversion of T4 to T3 take place, with such a low ferritin level.

You also posted high TPO antibody levels which confirm that the cause of your hypothyroidism is autoimmune (known to patients as Hashimoto's). This is likely to be the cause of your low nutrient levels, so as your Vit D and ferritin are low it's possible that your B12 and folate are also less than optimal.

These are the reasons why you are still symptomatic.

Yes ut the actual results they are inside normal results just ferritin is a bit on the edge...

Just because the results are within the normal ranges does not mean that they are at the right level for you to be well. We need optimal levels and if you are symptomatic then obviously the levels are not optimal for you.

And as I said it is absolutely essential to test FT3 when testing TSH and FT4 because you need to know how well you convert T4 to T3, it's low T3 that causes symptoms. DippyDame has also pointed this out in her reply below.

Thank you, you really help me☺️. I have had tested again om the 30 November. Asked to do all you ask here. And alergies . But they just test me TSH as usual.... but results were.: Tissue transglutaminase IgA level <0,5 u/ml<1,5

Ferritin 12ug/L [10,0 - 322,0]

Serum total 25 hydroxy vitamin D 97nml/L [50,0 - 100.0]

Serum TSH 1,1mu/L [0,2 -4,0]

Calcium adj ALb PO4 2,19nmol/L [2,2 - 2,6]

Serum albumin 39/L [35,0 - 50,0]

That was mainly what they test me not the antibodies or T4and T3....

Going for a talk GP appointment on the 21 November face to face one. And I am trying to prepare some paper figures and point to values to see if he does something else about my case. That's one reason to tell him look I am not the only one...

Your ferritin level is absolutely dire, you need to discuss this with your doctor to see how you can improve it, recommended levels are in my previous reply.

Your Vit D level is OK but you need to ask for B12 and folate to be tested along with FT3 tested at same time as TSH and FT4.

I asked all but the doctor didn't put it down to do it... will talk face to face on the 21st. Thank you😊

You will likely find that here there are many in your position....that's basically why this forum exists

The people who feel well are, for the most part, not here....they are correctly medicated and getting on with life

If you still have symptoms of hypothyroidism then it is highly likely that you are still undermedicated.

I suspect, from your bio, that your FT3 may be too low ....but it hasn't been tested!

T3 is the active thyroid hormone essential to every cell in the body....it must be available in an adequate and constant supply

Low cellular T3 = poor health.

Sadly medic's knowledge of thyroid disease is limited

Your medics are no doubt using TSH as a marker and science proves this is not accurate!

thyroidpatients.ca/2021/07/...

Ideally you need a full thyroid test...

TSH, FT4, FT3, vit D, vit B12 , folate, ferritin and thyroid antibodies

At the very least....FT4 and FT3

Many of us test privately to acheve this ....because the NHS do not.

thyroiduk.org/help-and-supp...

Have you followed the advice you were given in your last post regarding essential nutrients required to support thyroid function

It is a miserable condition and your medics should not be brushing your symptoms aside....they should be making you feel will with correct medication.

If you manage to obtain more detailed lab results then members here can advise...if not you may need to persuade your GP that you need to have your medication reviewed ....perhaps using justification from the link above.

Provided I have enough Levothyroxine, I have no symptoms. However, if I have good thyroid hormone levels, my TSH is always suppressed, which GPs used not to like. Since COVID they don't monitor me, so all is good in my world.
