A very big thank you to the lovely people named above who have responded to my query.
I will read through all the suggestions and links, making lists so as to explain clearly to my granddaughter.
However, she is never keen to see a GP and neither is her father. I will do my best in explaining they can request the test results (as I always do with mine) but I doubt they’ll act on my recommendations. This makes it very difficult to help but I am most concerned for my granddaughter’s health. She’s much too thin… and as it was pointed out in one post, many vegetarians eat too much carbs and ironically not enough vegetables and fruits and not enough good proteins…. because it takes too much time preparing well balanced vegetarian meals!
I had bought a variety of nuts for her to eat as a snack (almonds, Brazil, walnuts, cashews etc.) to be categorically told that she doesn’t eat nuts!! I despair. Her father told me he can’t force her… which I understand to a point. I don’t think they’re aware of the problems lying ahead.
She did have an eating disorder when she was 10/11 years old. So I am concerned but it is most difficult to say anything about this as I do not want her to clam up and refuse contacting me.
Wish me luck in making them see sense without being seen as interfering. Until one loses one’s health one takes it for granted.
Many thanks again to SlowDragon, SeasideSusie, RedApple and J675.
