need to now up my T3 to 30 mg a day from 20mg I took an extra 5 in the morning then an extra 5 last night and felt the start of AF ! Only for a few beats though then it settled, that scared me!

so thought today just take the 15 in morning and 10 at the night for a week before increasing to 15 twice a day, do you think it would be better? As really scared of setting of AF again, anyone else get AF as well as hypothyroid? I did start with AF though sept 2021 before I started taking T3 in May 2022

I have also been diagnosed as having hashimoto’s

Always suggested here that T3 is increased slowly so adding 10mcg could be too much. Did you test before increasing ?

test? The endro increased it as tsh that was 108 then dropped to 50 is now back up to 98 so adding 5mg once a day for a week

In your opening post you said 10mcg was the increase - now you say 5 ? Did you have T4 and T3 tested to check if an increase was needed ?

yes sorry he said increase by 10 straight away, but then this morn remembered others said only add 5 mg to start so doing that for a week.

Yes…I am hypothyroid (hashi) and have AF. There must be many of us in this forum. I think Marz’s comment makes sense.

I often think we could make a sub-group on HU, given the strong inter-relationship between heart and thyroid. I didn’t learn about the connection early enough in my thyroid journey.

good idea. I had a lot of things I didn’t realise on my thyroid journey. Carpal tunnel, gallbladder removed, hysterectomy
