After discussion with my Dr about a year ago, we agreed to increase Thyroxine dose in the hope of shifting some stubborn weight! Along with other symptoms of fatigue and brain fog - all mild. Increased dose has helped with this, but negligible. I currently take, on alternate days, 125mcg and 150mcg Thyroxine. After recent bloods - fasting, last Thyroxine 24 hours before - my Dr sent a message to say we need to reduce the dose of thyroid replacement, and to make an appointment to discuss. I wanted your opinions first please, before I speak with my Dr. Thanks very much in advance!

Don't see any thyroid blood results there. Are they on another sheet?
Here is the second page. Sorry! Been having trouble with this all day 😀 I hope this is ok.
What vitamin supplements are you currently taking
Vitamin D is insufficient
Are you currently taking vitamin D
If yes…..How much
Aiming for at least around 80nmol minimum
Folate looks good
B12 at least over 500
Ferritin better at least over 70
Look at increasing iron rich foods in your diet
Improving low vitamin levels should improve conversion of Ft4 to Ft3……
This should reduce Ft4, increase TSH possibly and improve Ft3
If you don’t feel over medicated….Refuse to reduce dose and undertake to retest in another 2-3 months once vitamin levels are better
What’s your resting heart rate like
Do you wear a Fitbit or equivalent
Helpful to show your heart rate isn’t too high (assuming it isn’t)
I was taking the Better You Vit D3000+K2 spray but didn't get round to replacing when it ran out. I have also been taking Selenium plus Zinc (Holland & Barrett) and Magnesium as Malate, Citrate & Ascorbate with B Vitamins - B12 400ug - & Vit C (Newson Health). Do you recommend any alternatives or additions? I don't feel over medicated but have experienced a visual disturbance a couple of times since upping the dose. It only lasts about 20 minutes but I can see things moving and swirling in my peripheral vision. I don't know if it's connected to taking too much Thyroxine! I wondered about suggesting I even out the dose to 125mcg a day and retest in 2-3 months. My resting heart rate is usually around 65bpm. Thanks for any help and advice you can give.
Thorne Basic B or Jarrow B Right are recommended options that contains folate, but both are large capsules. (You can tip powder out if can’t swallow capsule)
IMPORTANT......If you are taking vitamin B complex, or any supplements containing biotin, remember to stop these 7 days before ALL BLOOD TESTS , as biotin can falsely affect test results

In week before blood test, when you stop vitamin B complex, you might want to consider taking a separate methyl folate supplement and separate B12

With serum B12 result below 500, (Or active B12 below 70) recommended to be taking a B12 supplement as well as a B Complex (to balance all the B vitamins) initially for first 2-4 months.
once your serum B12 is over 500 (or Active B12 level has reached 70), stop the B12 and just carry on with the B Complex.

Thank you SlowDragon so much! So, if I take the Thorne Basic B or Jarrow B Right should I take a separate Magnesium? At the moment my Magnesium is mixed with B vits and Vit C. Do you take Magnesium separately to B vits? The links are really helpful and interesting, thank you. I take my Thyroxine on waking and was taking Vit D with lunch. I then take Magnesium with B vits and Vit C, Selenium with Zinc in the evening before bed. Does that all sound ok? I will look at the Thorne Basic B or Jarrow B Right and maybe an alternative Magnesium. Thanks again for all your help.
Many of us take Thorne Basic B….or Jarrow
I can’t swallow capsules, so tip it out
B vitamins generally best taken in morning….after breakfast
Magnesium afternoon or evening (minimum 4 hours away from levothyroxine)
Important to stop taking vitamin B complex a week before any blood test
