Worried thyroid cancer has returned

I'm not going to say try not to worry because you obviously are, so ring your GP surgery on Monday morning and speak to your doctor. It could be as simple as a virus but you need to know. Let us know how you get on.
Hi there, my ex had had half of her thyroid gland removed but at the start she was told by the doctor that he had good news and bad news, the bad news was that she had cancer, the good news was that it was on her thyroid gland and it was an easy operation and that they would remove all of the gland that had cancer along with they would put her on thyroid tablets as the cancer could only grow on the thyroid gland and could only grow when it supplied thyroid but the tablets they would put her on would give her a high level which would stop her thyroid gland from producing thyroid itself and he said that he had never had anyone return due to cancer of the thyroid gland, so whilst you may have a problem but if you have been on thyroxine since your operation it is doubtful that it is due to thyroid cancer.Good luck with finding out what is causing you to have problems,
Regards Poppy Ann.
Looking at previous post you just had thyroid levels checked
GP should also have tested iron, ferritin, folate, B12 and vitamin D
Low iron/ferritin often causes breathlessness
Low Ft3 common on just levothyroxine
Low Ft3 leads to low vitamin levels
Thyroid test - essential that TSH, Ft4 and Ft3 were tested together
If only TSH and Ft4 get retested privately
