Hiya all, I've just started levothyroxine today. 25mcg starting dose, and my GP made it clear to not take vitamins or supplements within 4 hours of taking levo. And I've also seen on here that soy milk can interfere, so I figured no problem, I'll change to oat or almond milk. But they're all fortified with vitamins!!! Will that be problematic if I had my morning coffee made with a fortified plant milk an hour after taking levo?
I want to get the best out of the levothyroxine that I can cos I'm sick of feeling ill. And luckily the plant milk thing is a flavour choice, I used to have cow's milk but found I liked soy better and switched late last year. So if changing back to cow's milk is better then I'll do that but would like a few opinions first thanks! X

I don't think the amount of vitamins you'd get in a cup of coffee would make much difference, it would be very small. We're more concerned about things like 400 mg magnesium, that would block your levo.
But, any form of soy should definitely be off the menu at any time. It's not that it would block the thyroid hormone in the gut, like a magnesium supplement, but it stops thyroid hormone getting into the cells.
Thanks everyone for your replies, there's lots to learn with this! I'm liking taking it in the morning at the moment as I seem to be able to function better which I want to benefit from lol I think I'll see how I go with an almond milk that's fortified and reassess if I need to. X
