I posted recently about my recent start with Levo. I'm self treating and I think my problem is central hypo as I have a normal tsh and low ft4/3. I've been using 50 levo for about 9 weeks, I've tried to increase by small amounts a couple of times but it makes me feel worse. I've been feeling awful all week and yesterday got really bad stomach cramps as well as having to sleep for 3 hours in the afternoon. By 11pm my heart was thumping and sleep was difficult. This morning the diarrhoea started and I feel very weak. My bp is low 108/62 and I'm really concerned that the levo is affecting my cortisol. Would anyone with any experience of this please give me some advice. I'm self medicating.

Stomach pain and diarrhoea with levo
I think it’s too early to decide that the two things are linked. It’s much more likely that you’ve experienced mild food poisoning or have a virus at this stage.
See how things go for a few more days before changing anything. In the meantime, it’s fine to take imodium to relieve the diarrhoea and cramps.
Start taking notes of makers, doses, and symptoms associated with each prescription you get given.
Note that helvella has created lots of useful documents about anything and everything thyroid related and that includes a list of the Levo products that are available in the UK :

It may turn out that you can't cope with mannitol or some other ingredient. Lots of people don't tolerate Teva well, for example.
You could ask your pharmacist if they offer different makers to fill your prescription. If they don't you may need to get a paper prescription and take it to a different pharmacy.
Thank you humanbean. It's not on prescription as I source it online and have only just finished the first pack. I haven't had anything like this up until now and I've been feeling really tired just like I did before starting levo but I'm unable to increase as it makes me feel worse ie. more hypo.
