2022 study: T3 monotherapy improves QoL in hypothyroid women with residual symptoms on levothyroxine-only or T3/T4 combination treatment
While we don't want 90% of posts to be repetitions of previous posts, and repetitions of repetitions, .... but a certain amount of re-posting is positively good. Not everyone will have seen everything on its first post!
Interesting concept to put (12) patients on T3 mono therapy for 12 weeks and then swap to Levothyroxine mono therapy for 12 weeks (or vice versa)
Many people would find that a sudden shock either way
And yes it seems to be at odds with the usual method of slow titration with follow-up testing at 6–8 weeks! However I felt an improvement within hours of adding T3 to my levothyroxine. I think going from T4 to T3 monotherapy would be easier to cope with (if not a massive improvement) than T3 to T4 monotherapy.
This is brilliant!. It aligns with my recent experiences of trying T3 then trying to add a bit a bit if T4. However I need to read it to see what is says fully.
I've just opened this report/study and saved it to read later on. Will need a very quiet afternoon to get through it - thank you for posting it.
