Stress and cortisol levels

Hi all,

I'm just wondering if someone can give me a rough overview of what happens to cortisol levels in times of stress please?

When I get very stressed I get dizzy and lightheaded. Just recently I had two episodes of dizziness which seemed to come from nowhere, while I was sitting.

My understanding was that cortisol rises with stress but if dizziness can be a symptom of low cortisol that doesn't make sense in this circumstance.

I'm just trying to figure out how best to support my system when stress happens but it invariably does!
