Hello,
How can I get my liver and kidneys tested if GP refuses to do it?
Thanks
I try and get one of the following two tests done once a year :
bluehorizonbloodtests.co.uk...
Test Inclusions: Full Blood Count: Haemoglobin, Red Blood Cells, Haematocrit, Mean Cell Volume, Red Cell Distribution, Mean Cell Haemoglobin, MCHC, Platelets, MPV, White Blood Cells, Neutrophils, Lymphocytes, Monocytes, Eosinophils, Basophils.
Biochemistry: Albumin, Total Protein, Globulin, HbA1c, CRP, Iron, Ferritin, Transferrin Saturation, TIBC.
Kidney Function: Sodium, Urea, Creatinine, eGFR.
Liver Function: ALT, ALP, GGT, Total Bilirubin.
Bone Screen: Calcium, Corrected Calcium, Uric Acid.
Lipids: Cholesterol, HDL, Triglycerides, LDL, Chol:HDL ratio.
Thyroid Function: TSH, Free T4.
Vitamin D, Vitamin B12, Folate
One annoying thing about the test is that it doesn't include Free T3.

Another source for a similar test is this one from Medichecks (and it does include Free T3) but there are other differences between these Medichecks and Blue Horizon tests - you'll have to identify them yourself, I've lost my info on that :
medichecks.com/products/wel...
...
Another source for tests (which I've never used, but I know some people on the forum do) :
app.thriva.co/blood-test-su...
In the above case, you get the chance to pick which tests you want - but it's a subscription service so they assume you want to get the same tests done every three months. So, remember to cancel your subscription after testing. You would need to check whether there are any other traps for the unwary.
