So after my last post and my thyroid results looking great on paper but still being symptomatic what else can I look at?
My remaining symptoms are mostly hormonal, I think. The most bothersome are zero libido and *very* light periods.
My legs are also still really heavy but then I wonder if that's due to zero exercise in several years. Perhaps the muscles are just tight and it's not thyroid at all?
I don't think I have any adrenal issues; certainly no symptoms anyway. I drink the 'adrenal cocktail' (orange juice, salt, and; coconut water every other morning.)
Maybe if they're the most bothersome😤 symptoms left then this is good enough? although the libido issue is really becoming a problem for my marriage.
Hi Witchinghour. I am sorry to hear of your struggles with dosage of your meds. Been there, done that and got the t-Shirt! I am on Armour NDT, currently on 3 1/4 grains split morning, lunch, afternoon ( every 4-5hrs) during day (a.m. 1 1/8 grain / lunch 1 1/8 grain / pm 1 grain)
I have been off sick for past 18 months, diagnosed with Hashis 2011 and recently CFS with Fibromyalgia, and Mast Cell Activation Syndrome. It’s taken me roughly this long to adjust my dose to the optimal amount! I need 1/8 - 1/4 less in summer.
Optimal blood values on only NDT for me are: TSH ca 0.001- 0.0008 depending on day/ lab, so very suppressed, fT4 mid/ upper range and fT3 has to be right at top of range or even over.
I can relate to the heavy feeling in legs-this is a sign with me of being undermedicated.
If I were you I would stick with the NDT and increase a while longer to relief of symptoms as suggested by others on NDT, stopping Levo as well, and not try T3 just yet.
Have you checked your adrenals, female hormones, testosterone through saliva test? After saliva testing to establish base values, I am on bioidentical creams: progesterone, estradiol, estriol, DHEA and hydrocortisone and it has done wonders for my menstrual cycle: am ovulating again some months ( turned 50 last week🎂😀), cycle is back to ca 28 days ( from ca 21 days past few years and while very ill past 18 months ca 8 - 14 day cycles, which was hell on earth!!) pain, nausea and headaches during period better and my libido is back🍀🍀
