Suggests you might be under medicated and in possible need of dose increase

How much levothyroxine are you currently taking

When were thyroid levels last tested

Please add results and ranges if you have them

Do you always test early morning, ideally before 9am and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

Do you always get same brand levothyroxine at each prescription

When were vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 last tested

What vitamin supplements are you currently taking

Have you had thyroid antibodies tested to confirm autoimmune thyroid disease as cause of your hypothyroidism

Welcome!

Sounds familiar! My GP was going to refer me to ENT when it happened to me

I'd been diagnosed as hypothyroid for over 20 years...and medicated

But I was wrongly medicated!

It cleared when I added T3... and never returned!

But that was me...

So most likely, different for you.

Can you give us any more information...

Are you diagnosed as hypothyroid?

Are you medicated?

If so, what is the dose?

If not, you may need replacement thyroid hormone

If yes, you may need an increase

Do you have any lab results you can post.

With more detail members will try to help.

Hi! I developed a lot of voice issues within a few months of starting levo. Finally had an advanced thyroid function test with Medichecks and found out I was a poor converter of levo into T3...so levo actually made my Free T3 status lower and all my symptoms worse than even before starting it! Luckily adding T3 resolved most of my symptoms but I still have a certain amount of issues with my voice that I believe is caused by 'silent reflux'. Reflux seems to be very common in hypothyroidism as it can cause low stomach acid. SIBO, also not uncommon in hypothyroidism may also be involved in causing reflux and people often don't even know it's happening, as in my case. In my case, my body seems to have tried to cope with the reflux injuries by giving me facial dystonia and muscle tension dysphonia, associated with speaking. I also have or have had many of the other subtle symptoms of silent reflux. All the best! 🙂
