White tablets with F1 on one side and a line on the other. Could anyone tell me the maker of this 5 mg carbimazole tablet. Many thanks for reading. Valerie
Carbimazole 5 mg: White tablets with F1 on one... - Thyroid UK
Carbimazole 5 mg
Manufactures are all different. I have small pink ones no marking [5 mg] larger white ones with C10 on one size (10mgs)
How were they dispensed? My recent ones are in blister packs put some are loose & I’m often dispensed various brands, even at same time & same dose. I always insist on manufactures patient information leaflet (PIL). Which should automatically be dispensed it will describe the pill appearance and specify the ingredients and fillers which can differ depending on the manufacturer. Another thing I “fuss” about with pharmacist is that loose ones have a use by date. I used to charge dose a lot then change back so needed to know.
Are they accord? I think they are embossed with F1
They will be Accord.

Did you not get a Patient Information Leaflet when they were dispensed? Pharmacies must provide a PIL, at least if requested.
Thank you Helvella. No I didn’t get a leaflet, they were put in a dispensing bottle, but they had the sell by date on. Valerie
Next time, ask for a PIL. It must be given if requested. And it must be the appropriate one for the medicine - that is, it must be an Accord PIL.
It is their duty to supply one - using whatever techniques they can. Such as downloading and printing a copy.
I recommend always checking and asking - even if you got one last time.
Hi Helvella, the reason I asked about the make was to make sure that the meds were the ones I was prescribed. I’m feeling unwell so was just checking up that I have been give carbimazole. I’ll try and think of something else. Thank you for putting my mind at rest. Valerie
You are quite right to check. And more than happy to point you in the direction of more information.
And furious at how many patients do not get given PILs when their medicines are dispensed.
