Hi , I'm wondering if Thyroiditis and Hashimoto's are the same or are they two separate diagnosis.
I spoke to endocrinologist and he mentioned Thyroiditis for the first time .
Normally it's autoimmune disease and Hashimoto's.
Sorry for my ignorence

Hashimoto's is not a term UK doctors tend to use. Hashimoto's disease was named after the doctor who discovered it in 1912 - Hakaru Hashimoto - and it was recognised as an autoimmune disorder in 1957.
In the UK it's more usually called autoimmune thyroid disease or autoimmune thyroiditis. It's all the same thing.
It is just one cause of hypothyroidism - the immune system attacking and gradually destroying the thyroid. There are other causes of hypothyroidism but the treatment is the same for all whatever the cause.
