High blood pressure

Hi All,

Hope your day has started well. For a week now my blood pressure has been quite high last wednesday it was 140/84 and felt dizzy & nauseous. I rested it out thinking stress/anxiety.

Then developed heaviness on chest so called 111 and was asked a set of questions and was told to see gp doctor. GP doctor did my blood pressure said it was 120/90 and asked me to rest as he thought it can be stress. It's been a week now and my blood pressure is still slightly high and with pulse varying from 97 to 120. I need to get bloodworks done but gp did not think it was necessary. I wake up exhausted and by noon i have to take a nap. Has anyone experienced this? I just feel really lost.

Thank you.

Hi noteboo , earlier in the year my endocrinologist reduced my T4 as it was right a the top of the range even though I take T3, I started to feel dizzy and nauseous after a couple of weeks and while in my surgery for something else asked the nurse to check my blood pressure ( it was really high) she sent me home with a 24hr blood pressure monitor and the readings were sent to my GP who said I needed to try to get it down by exercise weight alcohol Etc. I emailed my endocrinologist 6 weeks into the reduction and said didn’t feel right and when he did my bloods my T4 had gone from 96% through the range to 46% and my T3 about the same . He increased my dose back up and I started to feel better and my blood pressure returned to normal , so for me it was definitely linked to my thyroid , try to get him to to bloods if you can just say you don’t feel right and this is not normal for you - good luck 🤞

Thank you Simplyred57 . Will follow with this. Been asked to wait for another week and to change diet and to rest more.

You need FULL thyroid and vitamins tested

When were iron and ferritin levels last tested

Vitamin D needs retesting

Folate and B12 too

healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

ALWAYS test thyroid as early as possible in morning before eating or drinking anything other than water and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

Only do private testing early Monday or Tuesday morning and then post back via tracked postal service

Come back with new post once you get results
