Hello 👋 everyone ,

There isn't a best levo for Hashi's. There's levo that suits you, and levo that doesn't suit you, due to the fillers used. The active ingredient - T4 - is the same in all of them.
Ha ha I think I’ve worded my question wrong….from experience which brand seems more tolerated? I know we’re all different but I was just curious if a certain brand seems to stand out from the crowd more x
Ah, OK. I'm afraid I can't help you there, because I can't tolerate any of them.
Hi
The drug itself is the same, it's a synthetic version that the body produces naturally, or doesn't in our case. It's the fillers or excipients they use that can make the difference. Mercury and Accord are widely available and most easily tolerated but if you're lactose free there's Teva or Aristo.
Lloyd chemist use Accord brand but call their version Northstar, Boots ditto Almus. It depends on what your chemist can get hold of and what dose you are on. Some manufacturers only make tablets in certain dosages, ie 50mcg. If you need 75mcg, only Teva make that but you could get a 50 and a 25mcg.
It's trial and error. I tried 3 brands and I'm still not settled on it. Having problems tolerating a higher dose. If you do find one that suits try and always get that one.
Unless you know you have issues with specific ingredients, I don't know how you could identify in advance which products you (or anyone else) would find most tolerable.

I have created, and try to maintain, a document containing details of all thyroid hormone medicines in the UK and, in less detail, many others around the world.
