So I just got my blood results back and they needed to increase my dosage. This is the third day I’m on it and I’m wondering if anyone feels better as soon as they are on the medication. Do the depressed/sadness symptoms go away permanently?

Does anyone feel better after they taken the right thyroid dosage?
Hello Ocean :
You will only know if you are on the right dose of T4 when your symptoms are reduced and you feel better for taking the medication.
What have you been diagnosed with and do you have the blood test results and ranges at diagnosis and can share them with us ?
If you have just started T4 it's likely you'll not be immediately on the right dose and it is generally monitored and dose adjusted by 25mcg increments every 6-8 weeks until you do feel better for taking the thyroid hormone.
There are numerous brands of T4 - maybe this particular brand doesn't agree with you :
No thyroid hormone replacement works effectively until your vitamins and minerals are optimal so it's also necessary to also monitor ferritin, folate, B12 and vitamin D .
Looking at previous post, you were only on 25mcg levothyroxine
Are you now increased up to 50mcg levothyroxine
50mcg is the standard starter dose levothyroxine
Bloods should be retested 6-8 weeks after each dose change or brand change in levothyroxine
Likely to need further increases in levothyroxine over coming months
guidelines on levothyroxine is to increase the dose slowly upwards in 25mcg steps until on approx 1.6mcg levothyroxine per kilo of your weight
Unless very petite, that’s likely to be at least 100mcg per day
How much do you weigh in kilo approx?
Important to regularly retest vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12
These are frequently very low when we are hypothyroid, due to low stomach acid, results in poor nutrient absorption and low vitamin levels
Request doctor tests vitamins ……and thyroid antibodies if you haven’t had these tested yet
ALWAYS test thyroid levels as early as possible in morning before eating or drinking anything other than water and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test
This gives highest TSH so you can get next dose increase in levothyroxine

Great explanation of why dose is increased slowly upwards over several months
