I saw Endo last week and have since been taking an extra 5mcg lio. So I take
7am 10mcg lio + 100/125 alternately levo
3pm 5mcg lio
9.40pm 5mcg lio
For a few days I felt great. Suddenly had energy in the afternoons and really felt like it didn’t matter if I did stuff during day, I could still do stuff in the evening.
But last day days, and it does coincide with my cycle starting, ive felt super hypo in the evening. Last night I kept waking up with this feeling of chest / heart palps that I know are hypo feelings. I couldn’t wait till 7am so at 5am I took my lio and levo.
Today since 7pm feeling like I can’t wait till 9.40pm to take my lio as again hypo feelings.
Is this to do with increasing? Is it the more I take the more I need? Will I be able to get around this by in a few weeks upping the levo, as I don’t think my endo will up my lio again.

I feel for you. Argh… it’s hard isn’t us? I can say this sounds like my exact experience when I raised to 20mcg. Almost like my body was crying out for more. Real peaks and troughs. I took the pill and a few hours later I had palpations off and on and generally felt yuk. Knackered. Ached.
Fast forward to 7 weeks and I started thinking maybe it was working and I’m definitely improved.
Fast forward to 8 weeks and blood test confirms level has raised but only to 4.6 (3.1 - 6.8). I deduce that the t3 maybe slightly working but considering it’s only a raise from 4.2 not much and the palps etc are due to getting it into the system.
My thoughts would be that maybe you need to space it out even more? I didn’t do that. I just whinged to my lot and hoped for sympathy 🤣. I didn’t get any! My experience is it will pass but how long? We are all different and I went in for a 10mcg raise so that is likely why it was so hard for so long. I really hope you feel much better quicker.
Don’t be hard on yourself. Try to take it easy if you can. x.
Yeah I think I might try shaws suggestion for a bit and see now it goes. Now it’s more used to having the T3 maybe this could work better and there seems to be some sense in it. And I can always change back.
Thanks for your kind message. It means a lot to just not feel alone in this crazy world we live in which often feels off to one side haha
Ooo yes. Let me know how you get on with the one dose. I had considered this and will hopefully 🙏🏻 get another raise tomorrow when I have endo appt. I just haven’t been brave enough to do it all in one as yet!! Good luck x.
Yes. I take 10mcg in the morning with 75mcg levo and another 10mcg around 3pm. I am hoping for a raise but as we know it is not guaranteed. He sent me a blood form stating n t4/t3 and where it stated tests to be done, t3 had typed ‘yes’ underneath. Where it said tsh and t4, underneath was typed ‘no’. So 🤞🏻🤞🏻This means he’s not to concerned what those levels are?? Probably wishful thinking. My tsh is already below range. I will wait and see.
Yes my t4 is below range. I wondered about mono therapy? But I don’t know what he’ll say. How much levo do you take? Telephone appt at 11am tomorrow. Of course I’ll let you know 😊
Yeah I’ve just read the study shaws shared it’s made me think about it too. But I don’t think this endo supports it so would have to find someone else or source it myself.
I follow the advice given by one of Thyroiduk's Advisers who was an expert in the use of T3. He stated a once daily dose would saturate all of our T3 receptor cells and they send out 'waves' throughout the day.
I take one daily dose of T3 and am well and symptom-free.
I shall give you a link to his site - although due to his accidental death some of his links might have been withdrawn.
Thanks shaws. I’ve never taken more than 10mcg in one go, should I build up moving to one dose over time or could I literally tomorrow try taking 20mcg in one go? Would quite like to try it for a week and see how it goes.
