Hi I got hyperthyroidism and it swollen and I had operation to see what going on as calcuim is attacking my bones and they said operation will take 45 minutes but it took longer and they could not find it and they want to do another one

Hi. Can I ask what was swollen. I take it you’re talking about your thyroid but u don’t directly say. What type of operation have u had? What were they supposedly looking for that they couldn’t find in this operation? What do they intend to do differently in this second operation? Have u had your antibodies tested to confirm hyperthyroidism. Thanks 😊

Sounds like you might mean hyperparathyroid
Parathyroid glands (found inside thyroid) control bone metabolism. There are 4 parathyroid glands. Tumour in one (or more) of parathyroid glands will upset bones
