Mercury Pharma Levothyroxine Sodium

My Levothyroxine has been increased from 75mcg to 100mcg, my Chemist rang to say that he would continue trying but at the moment he cannot get the 100mcg tablet and to take 2 x 50mcg for the time being is this ok to do or am I getting more levo by taking two 50mcg? Thanks

yes it's fine to take 2 x 50mcg instead.Same amount of Levo, ( it just means you get more of the other (inactive )ingredients in the tablet ).

We have heard many times that a particular medicine is not available. But on looking further, the situation is somewhat different. Often members have only found out by ringing the manufacturer, in this case Advanz, and asking them directly.

There should not be any problem taking two 50 microgram tablets instead of one 100 microgram tablet of the same make/formulation.

Thanks Helvella, was told by doctor to inform chemist to put the prescription back into the system and managed to get the 100mcg Mercury Pharma at a chemist not far from me, with provision if I need to get them again they would hopefully assist me with them 😀
