Recall of Certain Lots of NP Thyroid

Will close to replies so that discussion is kept together.
I JUST read that they had to pull it because the amount of thyroid med in the pills were not hitting their potency marks and people people were becoming ill after taking it:
Not all. Still available... Only certain bottles have been withdrawn.
I sincerely hope they only withdraw a few batches and don't throw out the baby with the bathwater!
Only specific lots were recalled. fda.gov/safety/recalls-mark...
The "risk" is really overblown. I downloaded the FDA's adverse report data for 2020 on NP Thyroid ( the 1st quarter FDA FAERS data for 2021 isn’t available yet).
In 2020, there were 110 reports classified as “serious” - but when you examine the data there is no certain evidence of NP Thyroid being causative vs mismanaged dosing or co-morbidities.
The "serious" events included three spontaneous abortions with congenital defects which could simply be Mother Nature at work; at least one was taking medications which are known to cause defects.
Of the five deaths, one had almost no information; the others indicate co-morbidities. Plus we were in the peak of the pandemic.
Without detailed reports and case histories, including thyroid levels, it's impossible to know if the NP Thyroid was in any way causative or merely associated. Especially as many of the reactions are fairly common responses to inappropriate medication levels, lack of treatment or under or over treatment.
