I’m having to start Prednisolone but I’m having a thyroid blood test on Tuesday. Should I wait until after my blood test to start on the steroid? Will it effect my blood results?
Also if you are on Prednisolone did it upset your stomach? I see they do a gastro resistant one!!!
I don't think it will make any difference but you could err on the side of caution & wait, unless you are being given it for an inflammatory condition where you need to take it now.
I would not like to advise on waiting on taking the steroids as it depends on what it’s been prescribed for. However when you do start then take after a meal or on a full stomach so that you don’t have any irritation.
I started on half the dose yesterday and I felt dreadful so I’m not going to take anymore and speak to my doctor. I was put on them to see if they would help with my high CRP levels and my anemia from inflammation. I have no diagnosis as to why I have these issues so it was an experiment by the specialist to see if they would resolve those issues. I think it’s a lazy way of trying to treat something that they don’t know what it is in the hope that by some miracle I will be cured. I wasn’t happy going down this route and was warned by my endocrinologist not to do it. I should of listened to her.
Get the enteric coated ones. I had issues with non coated ones and switched years ago and have never had any issues.
