I've spent the last 2 or 3 months taking supplements to improve my vitamin/ferritin levels. I think I'm a poor converter. I currently take 125mcg of levothyroxine but I don't feel right. I seem to remember that its good to split the dose of T3 but I can't remember when to take the 2 doses. I currently take the levo before I get up in the morning.
Any advice please?
Many thanks

After looking at your last tests I don't think you were taking enough Levo or either you have absorption issues so I can't judge if you're a poor converter. If you're not getting enough Levo then your T3 will be low. My T4 levels must be at the very top and a little over to see improvements. If those were my results I would have added and extra 12.5mcg Levo for 6 weeks, test, and then possibly another 12.5mcg Levo increase for 6 weeks, test. At that point you can determine if you need to add some T3 and keep/or reduce 12.5mcg Levo.
Looking at a previous post, it was suggested that because your FT4 was only 41% through range then it would be best to get your FT4 in the upper part of it's range at about 70% and try an increase in Levo dose to see if you can achieve that, then look at how it's affected your FT3 level. Have you done that? What are your current results?
If you add T3 then start with 1/4 of a tablet once a day for a couple of weeks then you could add a second 1/4 of a tablet 2 weeks later. You can take your first dose with your Levo. Second dose could be mid-afternoon or in the evening or bedtime, experiment to see what suits.
hi Susie, no I've not increased the levo, to be honest I forgot!Trying to get a blood test through the GP is virtually impossible when my results are "normal"
I can't keep affording to pay out for private blood tests unfortunately.
