Just a reminder:

Thyroid Federation International (TFI) (thyroid-fed.org), a global network of patient support organisations has teamed up with four international thyroid experts, including Petros Perros a UK endocrinologist, to conduct research that will help to understand patient experiences of treatment and care.

They want to gather feedback from patients receiving care for hypothyroidism which includes questions about quality of life, personality and some demographic questions such as age, household status and gender.

This study is being overseen by the Picker Institute Europe (Picker), who are an independent healthcare research charity (picker.org).

The TFI are reaching out to patients diagnosed with hypothyroidism to ask them to complete a questionnaire.

Participants must have a diagnosis of hypothyroidism, and be at least 18 years of age.

This is the same survey that The Thyroid Trust sent to some of us a little while ago - and which had two comment threads at the time (including one from me)

In summary, we didn't think much of bits of it - especially the assertion that TSH is all-conquering!

I agree but I thought I'd put it up again for new people to see. :-)

I’ve done it again and it is indeed the one that asks you a whole load of questions about whether you’re moody😒or happy🤪or are you able to start up conversations with strangers🥴Then it goes on to ask questions with ‘false or true’ answers which, as you would, you answer honestly from your own experience, which they then presume to give you the ‘correct’ answers to... which don’t necessarily correspond with your own. Their assumptions could result in some people then questioning their own responses and going back to change them to ‘fit in’ with what’s expected and ‘get full marks’, thus leading to false conclusions, the consequences of which we’d all have to live with.😡

I have pointed this out to them in the final comments section too. If they’re going to do a survey, they should accept the answers given, not try to ‘correct’ them as they go along!
