Essential to test TSH, Ft4 and Ft3 together

You will have to test privately

All thyroid tests should be done as early as possible in morning before eating or drinking anything other than water and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

cheapest option for just TSH, FT4 and FT3

£29 (via NHS private service ) and 10% off down to £26.10 if go on thyroid uk for code

If you previously felt well on Teva, which is lactose free, are you or do you think you might be lactose intolerant

Are you currently taking Teva?

It’s confusing to have two posts open

Test is £26.10 via NHS postal kit and is essential if you want to make progress

Many people have hidden lactose intolerance

If you did well on Teva previously.......have you tried Teva again recently

Yes tried Teva again and felt really bad on it.Ingredients have changed.

Or the problem is/has always been suddenly getting much worse conversion of Ft4 to Ft3.....extremely common as we get older

Come back with new post once you get results

Also essential to test ferritin and iron levels

Low iron or ferritin can cause breathlessness

When were these last tested?

Very common as we age for conversion of Ft4 to Ft3 to get worse

This frequently results in very high Ft4, very low Ft3 and very low TSH

Obviously need to test TSH, Ft4 and Ft3 together to see if this is your problem

If mine is not suppressed, I have symptoms. That being said, I also have free T3 and Free T4 checked regularly because I take Armour AND a healthy amount of Liothyronine due to a lack of conversion.

Well if you accept that constipation is a symptom of hypothyroidism.... yes you probably can.I have had TSH of 0.05 ish for many years with no sign of constipation.

(on Levo for Autoimmune Hypothyroidism with fT4 at top of range, with no signs of overmedication)

Recently my dose was lowered from 125 to 112 for 6 months which raised my TSH to 0.09

my dose was then lowered again to 100 for 3 months, which raised my TSH to 0.51 but resulted in my digestive system grinding to a halt and chronic constipation within a week of taking 100 and this did not improve. i had to start using laxatives

My dose was increased back to 112 and the constipation resolved naturally after 5 days.

Hi susiebow❤️Slowdragon has said everything you need to address so that's good, I can just tell you what I've gone through 2015. Unlike you my TSH was suppressed but its the same problem, my TSH started to go weird in 2015,i had one at 0.06..no T3 or T4 done😠 then I had one at 0.04, and the last one was suppressed again no T3, T4 done😠😠 what I'm saying I found as time trotted on I became very ill my endo or gp were not in the least bothered about my symptoms and not bothered about the TSH results either, which makes me so mad as I've found out on here it's best to have TSH, T3, T4 done to get an overall picture of how your thyroid is doing 🤷‍♀️.. I'm struggling now on thyroid meds my bloods are always off I feel awful its been 18 months since my thyroidectomy and I'm no better😩 like you I can't afford to pay for private bloods either, another thing that's annoying is when my TSH was low the so called pros never bothered, but my last test my TSH was 0.01 and my gp noted this saying it was to low 🤷‍♀️ how can we win when they contradict themselves 😠 sorry rant over 🙄 get T3, T4 TSH done again see what they are ❤️

Good luck ❤️

Hi Birkie, sorry to hear of your struggles too.I have tried all sorts of medication anddoses. At the moment I am just still living with feeling unwell.I have started listening to heal yourself ,heal through your cells meditations as you go off to sleep YouTube videos. There are a lot of them to choose from.I must say they have helped.
