Can creatine be used if you are sub clinical Hypothyroid
I'd be interested to know this too as just started taking it and had no idea it might be a problem! Do you know what the concern is ?
I’ve read some reports that say it can lower thyroid function further. However, this link provides favourable results “for” its use.

So, like you I’m about to try pure creatine Monohydrate to see if it improves not only my aching muscles, but my blood results!
Oh that's interesting , yes, me too hoping it'll help my achey weak muscles and had heard great things about it so thought I'd give it a try .
Just yesterday was wondering whether I need a dose increase in my NDT as just feeling so weary again so now maybe need to get a blood test to check .
Damn, so frustrating isn't it when you think you find something to help , then it ruins something else !
Bubblegum8, instinct and experience tells me that if you don't have the right balance of thyroid hormones, nothing else can compensate for that. Thyroid hormone is essential for muscle strength, without it muscles cannot function as they should.
You use the words 'sub clinical'. If you post your thyroid blood test numbers, it might help members to offer their thoughts.
I suffer with muscle weakness and atrophy, an interesting article was posted recently and i think that mentioned creatine. On my annual M.O.T massive list of blood tests i noticed my creatine was low so i have got some powder to mix in my breakfast smoothie, just to see if it makes a difference. Tbh i often feel i am grasping at straws!
