Does anyone have this autoimmune combination?

Hypothyroidism and rheumatoid arthritis
I don't. My mother did.
Anyone who has one autoimmune disease is at much greater risk of getting another one.
90% of hypothyroidism in the UK is of autoimmune origin i.e. the immune system attacks the thyroid. Over time the thyroid will be destroyed.
I don't know any figures for rheumatoid arthritis but I do know it is an autoimmune disease too.
Hi humanbean, yes - I have both these autoimmune diseases! Double whammy, eh? Don't despair ... there are many of us around and we can share our experiences here. NRAS are such a helpful advisory source and I suggest you register with them for further support and advice. You can even akpply for a one 2 one 'buddy' to share scares and successes!
I inadvertently replied to humanbean instead of to you LEWKO2 - so please read on!
