By accident I found this large article dated around 2013 which I found very interesting. It is downloadable for me. Doesn't have any other identification than the title and author above.

I am being forced to choose to download via Google or Facebook (only).
Facebook is a non-starter as I am not a member.
And the via Google option is asking for academia.edu to have access to all my contacts.
I don't like those options. And have not, yet, found an alternative.
I've sent the whole article to Lyn Mynott as its access seems difficult
If you join academia.edu, which is free for most casual purposes, you can just use your login for that site. I agree, I don't like giving websites access to my gmail contacts, which is unbelievably intrusive. I've never had any particular problems with this site though. Some academics use it to make their published work more widely available to the public.
Reading the PDF now (I signed up, rather than use one of my public accounts). Found this at the end of the introductory paragraph, above the abstract: "In sum, this essay puts a bigger emphasis on asking questions than providing answers."
Isn't that about where we are at?
I decided to print the article and digest it with my lunch. As I was putting down the print on my table, I noticed a print of "The History and Future of Treatment of Hypothyroidism" by McAnich and Bianco. ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl...
I could not find this article cited in her list of references.
