Thyroid and eye pain

Hi

Haven't been on for a while. Had graves disease treated by radiodine about eighteen months ago if I remember right. Taking 150 mg of levothyroxine a day. Thyroid levels were all ok when I was in hospital in may.

Have had sharp pain at the back of my left eye for a couple of weeks now. Seems to be getting worse now especially with movement Over the last few days vision is becoming less sharp. Is there any way it could be linked to the thyroid at all.

I would recommend you arrange to have this checked.

Pain on movement and blurriness is are associated with Thyroid eye disease / Graves ophthalmology. This can develop before, during and after treatment of Graves.

You should ask your GP to refer you to an ophthalmologist as you believe you have Thyroid Eye Disease. In the meantime, you should take selenium supplements as they are meant to help with TED.
