Hello everyone! So I thought I would come on here in hope that some off you maybe have experienced the same or similar to myself.
My symptoms started after I had my little girl who is now 12 months old. She was about 2 months when I started feeling off.
I began to get weird symptoms so I went to doctors and had bloods they said I was borderline low b12 and to take tablets so I did no difference. I then saw another doctor who said I needed injections so I had them done but no change happened. I will list symptoms I have been experiencing down below.
- lump sensation in throat
- feeling like I am being chocked
- spasums all over body. Throat, face, arms, legs, feet everywhere you can think
- feeling very weak and shakey/ shakey hands
- horse voice on and off
- most recently vibrating feeling in left foot and leg and it feels weak and sore almost like pins and needles
- really fatigued and tired
- I lost a lot of hair when baby was 1-6 months but now grown back
- dry eyes and eye floaters
- getting unwell easily. Sore throats, colds
- tinnitus
- headaches
- heart palpitations
- cold then hot
- mood swings
(I have probably missed a few but I won’t bore you with all off them haha.
I am at my Last straw and have had enough of feeling this way I spend my day searching the web asking doctors and just getting no where. I feel like I’m dying and it scares me.
So if anyone could give some advice or relate to this I would be so grateful.

Thankyou for replying ♥️ And only had bloods taken when my little girl and myself had our first checkup and that’s it they never said anything about thyroid so assuming levels must had been fine 😕and no not having anymore injections I had my weeks worth and that’s all. I have just done an online form so hopefully they will contact me tomorrow xxx
Ask the receptionist (not a doctor) for a print out of your past results. Post them on the forum when you have them and include the reference ranges which will be on the print out (usually at the side of the results). It doesn't matter when the tests were done, in the UK we are legally entitled to our test results.
When you speak to them, ask if you can have a full thyroid function test because you think you may possibly be showing signs and symptoms of hypothyroidism. Ask for the vitamin tests as well saying that you understand low nutrient levels can have symptoms similar to hypothyroidism. You could say that you have spoken to the charity ThyroidUK who have suggested these tests (don't mention the Internet or forum, just say ThyroidUK) .
Okay Susie I will ring and get the levels tomorrow and when I talk to the doctor tomorrow I will say just that thankyou for replying to me means a lot xx
Recommend you get FULL thyroid and vitamin testing done
For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested. Also EXTREMELY important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12
Low vitamin levels are extremely common, especially if you have autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's) diagnosed by raised Thyroid antibodies
Ask GP to test vitamin levels and thyroid antibodies
Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and before eating or drinking anything other than water .
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)
Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or thyroid antibodies or all relevant vitamins
