So i posted this awhile back about random patches that appeared on my back in jan 2019, doct at the time told me they were nothing just cafe lait spots, well just recently had a mole removed from back and asked the skin doct to take a look at the patches, straight away he said they were fungal and prescribed me a shampoo for them, well what do you know pretty much disappeared overnight, so not happy that i could have treated this back in jan of 2019.

It seems like doctors' ignorance isn't confined to just thyroid disease - no surprise there really! Frequently quoted by the doctors in my surgery "I don't know what it is, come back in a couple of weeks if it doesn't get any better", then when you go back in two weeks you get the same "advice" 🙄
Yes very frustrating as they started to spread but then just faded, they were not itchy nor bothered me in any way just looked ugly, i thought they were hormonal aging patches, so annoyed that i could have treated way back. Always pays for second or even third opinion
That's interesting. I have exactly the same patches on my stomach. Not itchy sore etc. Just as you say looks ugly. I asked a dermatologist about it. They mentioned something about a shampoo but nothing was prescribed so will ask my gp about it. It's been spreading a lot too.
The shampoo i was prescribed was 2% Nizoral , it actually says anti dandruff treatment and is a shampoo, but doct said to rub some into patches and leave for 10 mins before showering, i did for like 5 days and they have virtually gone. Im in Australia though so may be called something else depending on where you are.
Would you be kind enough to tell which shampoo did the trick? Thanks
