BHRT taken cyclicaly and experiences

Hi all

I am in the early stages of hrt for perimenopause. I am nearing the 3 day pause recommended by my gp and have noticed that i am experiencing period like cramps for the last day or so.

Is this "normal?" I guess I'm just surprised that my body would pick up on my first cycle of taking this that the pause is due to happen and prepare in the way it would have done in the past for a period (although I understand that any shedding would be withdrawal bleeding only) and cramp up.

Also, and this is the "how long is a piece of string question" for those of you who experienced weight gain as a result of your change of hormones in relation to perimenopause, how long did it take for your body to start responding to any efforts on weight loss?

Finally, does anyone know of any nutritionists, tried and tested, that work with women who are going through these issues. If so please could you PM me.

Thanks in advance as always

Some doctors advise taking time off to make a fake period (usually about a 5-7 day pause) while others say take the same dose all the time. Both camps seem to have evidence to support their cases so really you have to go with what the prescriber advises. I lost weight around menopause.
