Hi. I've just watched a really useful (and recent) youtube video by Dr. Mindy Pelz called "How to Identify the Root Cause Of Your Thyroid Condition". It's the best explanation I've found so far.

I’m sorry this video is full of gibberish. She clearly has negligible knowledge of thyroid hormones (“the adrenals secrete rT3”). The problem with watching this video is that patients may ‘learn’ incorrect information. I would recommend patients use non-profit sources and read original research if they are able to.

Most of the presentation. To properly critique it would take a lot of writing and quoting evidence. I would just forget it and gradually pick up information from reputable sources such as thyroidmanager.org/ (you have to register but it's free). Unfortunately, it's hard work to get a good understanding of thyroid as it's a very complex system.
