Sometimes when I increase my medication I can feel a temporary improvement in mood and energy. However the improvement is temporary. I fall back to feeling OK rather than good. Does this indicate I need to take more to sustain the improvement, or is the sense of euphoria and increased energy just a short term perk?

Appollo_creed - as I understand it this is quite common. I experienced it, and called it my titration puppy parties.
To be honest, when I increased my Levo I would feel fantastic for a few days. I had more energy. symptoms eased and life was good, but like a puppy, after a short while of frantic activity and well being, I almost crashed and burned.
I was advised, that usually indicated under medication.
Good luck with it all, as it's such a disappointment when all that feeling of well-being ebbs away again.
Hi Apollo_Creed! I'm no expert but, from what I understand, the pituitary gland, which signals to the thyroid to produce hormones, takes some time to respond to the increase in medication. It may take up to a few weeks for the pituitary to catch up with the increase and send the right signal. When that happens, if you are not optimized, you start feeling worse. It may mean that you need to make another small increase.
