Why does it sometimes seem as if discussions about the difficulty of losing weight is somehow unacceptable, as if this is an unimportant element of regaining health.
So many of us it seems are at least a size and for some people many sizes bigger than they want to be. Especially now that summer approaches and we probably all want to look good - is there anyone out there who holds the clue to curing what for me is the worst symptom of having a thyroid issue ?

Do you mean on here? I've never had the impression that it's unacceptable. The problem is, people tend to post about their weight-gain and expect someone to come up with an instant fix to the problem. And, there is no instant fix. Sometimes there's no fix at all. But it's perfectly acceptable to ask.
Problems with weight gain are common with hypothyroidism, it's a topic often raised here and I've never seen anything to indicate that the subject is unacceptable.
You may be undermedicated, do you have recent labs? I think you were dosing by symptoms at one point - not a good idea unless you are certain you have a form of Thyroid Hormone Resistance. Very careful and regular monitoring is required (see below)
I wrote the following to you about a year ago in response to use of T3/RTH.
"Yes! I take 87.5mcg T3 (and possibly rising) others here may take higher doses, however T3 is a very potent hormone and overmedication is to be avoided.
Daily monitoring of both heart rate and basal temperature is important to avoid overstimulation as is increasing your dose by no more than 5mcg/6.25mcg (quarter of your tablet strength) no sooner than every 2 weeks. This is not a quick fix remedy (think headache/paracetamol!) and must be followed with due care.

Did you find the references to Dr Lowe and Hugh Hamilton helpful? Did they eliminate/ suggest RTH?
What thyroid hormone replacement (s)are you currently taking, and how much?
There is no quick fix but I suggest you review both your thyroid levels and your nutrient levels and take it from there. Experienced members will offer excellent advice, I can vouch for that.
Looking good is one thing but being healthy supercedes that. Your diet is very important, make sure you eat healthy well balanced meals using fresh foods.

In my opinion, anyone worried about weight gain should first optimise their nutrients, their thyroid hormone levels, their gut health, and should improve their adrenal health. And only then should anyone worry about their weight.
There have been plenty of posts on here about weight where the person doing the asking is miles away from having the best possible health (under the circumstances) and has symptoms galore suggesting that they are metabolically and hormonally unwell.
