Hi. Just wondering if there are any guidelines as to how often you should have a thyroid scan if you have enlarged thyroid and thyroid antibodies? I haven't had one for at least 2-3 years, and Gp adamant that they only do them if cancer is suspected. Can't help feel that's a load of rubbish!?

Thanks in advance!

Yes obviously that’s rubbish

Many patients get thyroid ultrasound to confirm hashimoto’s or nodules

20% of Hashimoto's patients never have raised antibodies
