You will have a false low FT4 result. Last dose of Levo should be 24 hours before blood draw. It may not make too much difference as it's only two hours but it's best to try and stick to the recommended time gap if you can each time so that you get a measure of the normal amount of circulating hormone and also you can compare results accurately.
Ah ok, I really was hoping to get it done first thing otherwise I’ll have to wait til Monday. It sounds like she is only going to use the tsh as a reference point anyway so will that matter too much? Xx
TSH is only affected by the time of the blood draw and whether or not you have eaten, drunk coffee or other caffeine containing drinks. TSH can lower after eating and coffee can affect TSH level. So an overnight fast, drinking water only on the morning, and a blood draw no later than 9am gives the most accurate TSH result.
Thankyou, I’ll do it in the morning then As I’d rather get it resolved as quickly as possible! The dr did tell me that the other dr hadn’t even started me on the correct dose as they start treatment on 75mcg as standard and yet I’ve only been started on 50mcg. She basically said all the issues I have are due to being under medicated!! She literally took the words out of my mouth lol x
