Had to stop Carbimazole cause bloods cells went low, so now not on anything ?

Hi just out of hospital after a stay for four days, as the Carbimazole has made my bloods cells low so couldn’t fight infection . They had to stop Carbimazole my last results are , Tish, 0.092, 0.27 4.20, t4, 23.0, 12-22, so they did come down really well after a month on it, endocrinology said he will see me in a week and with these results he wouldn’t of given me Carbimazole so I’m now got to wait a week without anything until he sees me , just abit all confused as they prob go back up now , and feel like I shall b back to square one again :(

I am sorry to hear that I stopped Carbimazole because I came out in a rash so I took PTU instead which seemed to suit me better.

Here is a link about PTU so you could ask your Doctor if maybe you could take it.

I have just read about it and it is kind of similar to Carbimazole but you can still ask. What dose were you on of Carbimazole?

I was taking 15mg every night , only been on them for a month

Hi don’t think they will give me anything until I see him as I haven’t even seen a endocrinology yet , the doctor on the ward has spoken to him and said the results were ok for now and to see me in a week

As per previous post

You don't appear to have had Graves antibodies tested

Your results were unclear and could be Hashimoto's rather than Graves anyway

Carbimazole is not correct treatment for Hashimoto's

Ask endocrinologist to test TSI or TRab antibodies

Plus vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 and cholesterol

High cholesterol is linked to being hypothyroid (and very common with Hashimoto's)

My Tish came back normal last test , will just wait till week Monday as it’s all to confusing for me , I feel better in myself as think the infection was making me feel worse not sure how long I had it but as soon as I got a score throat I went in , I don’t seem to have shakes , my heart did go abit mad last night throu the night but took 10mg propranolol and all seems good, just have to take a day at a time

Sorry meant to say my antibodies test came back normal ,

To confirm Graves' disease you need TSI or TRab antibodies tested

Yea think it was tsi one that was normal, will have to ask about the other
