Hi t, I try some brand of hydrocortisone, til now I feel ok with hydrocortisone from resolution but my pharmacist says its not a brand resolution, its a generic and I should switch to brand one. What do you think, which would be better. Do you know any brand better than this one that I can order in the pharmacy.

I know what that is, I just need a good brand to find it in pharmacy. Because it's a lot of generics hire

if you feel ok on it, i wonder why your pharmacist wants you to swap.

Well I need to change the pharmacy because it's doing that because nobody take this one from the Bristol, saw she thinks it is smart and give me this to not order the ones we took before. She have it only one box....

If you feel OK with Resolution hydrocortisone, why would the pharmacist be telling you to change? If you feel fine there is no reason to change. Take no notice of the pharmacist, I'm sure you would know yourself if you have a problem with those tablets.

Unless there is a specific reason, a "brand name" wont be put onto a prescription, the GP will just put "hydrocortisone" or whatever medication is required. The NHS requires the least expensive medications to be supplied to save money, so whatever the pharmacy can get as the cheapest, that will be supplied.

Here is a list of all the hydrocortisone available to the NHS:

bnf.nice.org.uk/medicinal-f...

Resolution is listed, as is Bristol.

Sometimes a patient can react to fillers which can be different with another brand, in which case it is perfectly acceptable to ask for a specific brand and stick to it.

I didn't look at ingredients, and the OP hasn't mentioned anything about needing lactose free in his original post, not sure why the pharmacist is interfering if the OP is doing fine on the Resolution brand.
