It shows what your cortisol levels are, it needs to be done between 8-9am. It depends on what your symptoms are as to why he is doing it. High levels of cortisol can be due to Cushing's disease or syndrome, the symptoms are insomnia, rapid weight gain especially around your tummy, can have high BP, stretch marks, excessive facial hair & some other symptoms. Low cortisol points to adrenal insufficiency, either primary where the adrenal glands are affected or secondary where the pituitary is affected or they don't know why it's low. The symptoms are weight loss, low BP, feeling dizzy, nausea, weakness.

because I take levothryxine t4 and end up really unwell.. with neurological problems x
