The only way to find out is try them, its best to stick with the same brand but we don't know which suits us best until we try them. If you want a particular brand your GP must print the brand name on your prescription eveytime and the pharmacy should note it on theirs records.

Thank you. The pharmacist said they can give me 2 x 25mcg of Mercury Pharma, is this ok? Does that mean twice amount of fillers?

Much will depend on if you have allergies. However they should not be changing brands without you being monitored as different brands do have variance in potency. And fillers can be different. What were you on before?

Watch out for any adverse affects, and if you notice anything at all let your Dr know and get another prescription for the ones you know are ok.

I was on 50mcg Mercury Pharma and they have given me Almus but the pharmacist says they can give me 2 x 25mcg Mercury Pharma ...... which would be best or should I shop around?

I have never heard of Almus? Is that a new supplier or a name change I wonder? I can’t advise you which to try or not as not medical. If you decide to try the Almus brand it would be worth letting your Dr know that the chemist has changed your brand to that and you are trying it on a ‘trial’ basis. I.e. if you don’t get one with it you can ask for your usual brand back? Just a thought.

I had my T3 brand changed a few years ago, as the UK brand was unavailable. The new brand actually is much better. It is just trial and error sometimes,

There is a difference in ingredients though a small one. The mercury Pharma has sodium citrate and lactose in them and the almus doesn't have the sodium citrate, but therefore has more lactose in them
