I’ve recently got my Medichecks back and want to review my vitamins against optimal levels, not just ranges. I’ve done a bit of research too and would really input from this knowledgable group so I can make a plan and keep track and target any daily supplements.
Thanks in advance! 😁

Vit D: The Vit D Council recommends a level of 125nmol/L and the Vit D Society recommends a level of 100-150nmol/L.
Total B12: According to an extract from the book, "Could it be B12?" by Sally M. Pacholok:
"We believe that the 'normal' serum B12 threshold needs to be raised from 200 pg/ml to at least 450 pg/ml because deficiencies begin to appear in the cerebrospinal fluid below 550".
"For brain and nervous system health and prevention of disease in older adults, serum B12 levels should be maintained near or above 1000 pg/ml."
Active B12: Below 70 suggests testing for B12 deficiency, I would want mine over 100 with Medichecks range of 37.5-188.
Folate: at least half way through range, if Medichecks range says >3.89 then I'd want mine in double figures.
Ferritin: It's said that for thyroid hormone to work properly (that's our own as well as replacement hormone) ferritin needs to be at least 70, preferably half way through range, although I've seen it said that a good level for females is 100-130 and for males 150.
